Will Rogers Daily Telegrams 11-14-2013

ENID, Okla. — WILL ROGERS HAS BAD NEWS ABOUT CELEBRATION OF CHRISTMAS

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Dec. 26, 1926. It’s going to take four days to bury all those who celebrated Christmas.

If Nicaragua would just come out like a man and fight us, we wouldn’t have to be hunting away off over in China for a war.

See where Tunney, the champion prize-fighter, fell in the water and it was all a Boy Scout could do to rescue him.

The Mayor of Beverlythe Claremore, Oklahoma, of the West Coast,

“Nicaragua.”

“The 1932 Legion Convention will be held in Nicaragua.”

“Let’s make Nicaragua free for 100 per cent Americans to live in.”

“We have lost our first combat there, but wait till our Spring drive starts against Nicaragua.”

“Stop Nicaragua while there is time.”

Recruitingly yours, Mayor Rogers.

WILL ROGERS ANALYZES EUROPE’S BEING ‘SORE AT US’

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Dec. 29, 1926.They say all nations are sore at us, but unfortunately for us they didn’t get sore at us quick enough. If they had, we would have saved money. We are the ones that should be sore at them for not getting sore at us quicker. Them’s the Mayor’s sentiments.

NOBLE CHANCE FOR A REPUBLICAN WITH MAYOR ROGERS AT BEVERLY

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif — Dec. 30, 1926. Say, you talk about a prosperous town. We can’t find a Republican poor enough to be Postmaster here. Even Democrats got money in this town and won’t take the job.

Here is an opening for Butler of Massachusetts, Vare or Smith.

The Mayor of a town in distress.
