MR. ROGERS MAKES A DISCOVERY ON HORSEBACK TOUR OF RANCH

TULSA, Okla., Oct. 27, 1926. Been riding horseback over my ranch and old birthplace today, and found two stills. That’s some stuff I haven’t been getting rent on. If I can show ‘em how to make that Russian vodka that made Mary Garden kiss me I will have the best paying ranch in the West.

WILL ROGERS’ DISPATCH

FORT WORTH, Tex., Oct. 29, 1926. That famous murder case, where the big preacher shot a fellow opens here tomorrow.

The preacher had his own broadcasting station and the man murdered kicked on the amount of static. The preacher shot him to keep him from listening to it.

The defense will be that he was putting the man out of his misery and they are trying to get men on the jury that own radio sets.

ROGERS REPORTS HE’S PULLING FOR A TIE IN THE NEXT SENATE

SAN ANTONIO, Tex., Oct. 30, 1926. Well, the candidates have only got one day more to wish.

Tonight they will be setting like a condemned man, waiting for a last minute word that they are needed to carry out the President’s policies. Calvin is a pretty wise guy that way. He remembers what happened to the candidates, one time, when President Wilson went out and endorsed them all in a bunch. This year there will be many a one that will die waiting in vain. We only have a couple of more days and then we will know who is to handicap us for the next four years. If the Democrats can gain nine in the Senate they will split the front page news for the next few years, but if they don’t gain any, and maybe lose some, why the only way you can read about one, will be to look in the “to lets.” I am pulling for a tie between the Democrats and Republicans in the next Senate, and then we will have some excitement in there.

WILL ROGERS GIVES ADVICE RECEIVING ELECTION RETURNS

SAN ANTONIO, Tex., Oct. 31, 1926. Don’t be too enthusiastic Tuesday night over the election returns. They won’t mean a thing. Many will be elected, but few will be seated.

Yours, Will Rogers.
