Enid and area Halloween events scheduled this week

In the middle of all the politics and economic issues, we want to take a minute to point out some fun things that will be happening over the next few days.

Enid-area residents will be celebrating Halloween.

The Halloween holiday has different meanings for different people, but one thing is evident: local organizations and churches are making sure there is something for everyone to do in the next few days.

The festivities begin as early as Thursday, when one North Garland Church is holding a “trunk-or-treat” activity for children in its parking lot.

The festivities continue on Friday with the annual Scare on the Square in downtown Enid, along with other festivals and festivities.

Saturday and Sunday also will be busy with different events celebrating Halloween or fall festivals. If you are young — or just young at heart — there is an activity for you in the next few days.

We encourage revelers to have fun, but also be safe, considerate and respectful of others. There is no tolerance for vandalism or mean-spirited mischief.

Friday’s newspaper will have a list of Halloween activities going on in the community. Take the time to enjoy at least one of them and have a safe and happy Halloween.
