Letter: Impressed with splash pad at 10th and Chestnut

Enid News and Eagle

ENID, Okla. — City of Enid administration:

Don’t have a heart attack, but I am actually impressed with something the city has done.

Are you sitting down yet?

The splash pad at 10th and Chestnut is nicely done.

The good, the bad and the ugly:

The splash pad (good) is adequately sized, has adequate water features and the “sunscreen” tarp is a very nice touch.

The splash pad (bad) theme paint didn’t last worth a darn. Get a refund on paint.

There are three different signs (at gates) with hours of operation, and each sign has different hours of operation.

The playground (good) is nicely sized and has a nice assortment of playground equipment.

The artificial grass is feet-blistering hot, and the sidewalk is 20-plus degrees cooler than the fake grass.

The whole park (good) has a nice layout and is nice looking.

There is an absence of shade/seating for parents and grandparents, especially the elderly and/or disabled.

Overall, I am impressed.

You may faint now after you read this, because it could be the only letter you ever get where I’m impressed with the city administration.
