Enid News and Eagle
ENID, Okla. —
As chaplain of Northwest Oklahoma Chapter 66, I have been privileged to work with amazingly resilient men and women veterans over the past six years. Every year, we have the opportunity to work in partnership with Golden Corral on our major fundraiser of the year. Contrary to popular belief, we are dependent upon the support and goodwill of the people of northwest Oklahoma.
We make good use of the resources provided to us by the populace of our service area. We provide daily transportation during the week to the VA Hospital in Oklahoma City, to any veteran who calls our transportation officer, Bret Pyle, at (580) 478-7027. We also attempt to meet needs in the local community. Additionally, our chapter service officers have an outstanding success rate in assisting our veterans in securing veterans’ benefits.
The need is great. Even as government resources dwindle, we have an increasing number of veterans returning with needs unique to veterans. They need each of you, and we need each of you to meet those needs.
We will be working to replenish our coffers at our annual partnership fundraiser from Oct. 28 through Nov. 11, 2013. The fundraiser will culminate on Nov. 11, with the Golden Corral hosting active duty military and veterans from across Northwest Oklahoma from 4-9 p.m. We hope you will invest in the repatriation of these men and women who have labored diligently in the service of their country.
For further information, please call our chapter office at (580) 242-3808. We are grateful for your past support and whatever support you can offer us into the future.
