Enid News and Eagle
ENID, Okla. —
My voting place is the old Wilson School gym. To get to the parking lot to vote, you have to enter off of Ninth Street.
So, I was wondering why the city of Enid tore up Ninth Street just off of Chestnut on voting day, Oct. 8. It was still partially open early in the morning, but completely torn up later in the day.
I am sure it was difficult for many people to walk across Champion Park and the uneven parking lot to reach the voting place. How many people did not even try?
On another note, the voting site was in poor condition. It was dirty and the lighting was bad and the bathroom plumbing was not worked properly in the past.
The Election Board officials at the voting site said there would be another election next month. Will the city of Enid have the voting site and road ready?
