ENID, Okla. —
Evidently, no city commissioner or mayor has had the unfortunate ride in an ambulance down this street to get to the emergency entrance at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.
No ambulance ride is a picnic. However, to put ill patients through this torture at the end of their ride is not worthy of the city of Enid.
My rough ride on this section of Enid streets did not bother me — I was unconscious. My wife and others who have complained to me about the street’s condition have made several bouncing, uncomfortable trips on this rough street.
Our outstanding area EMTs and Paramedics do what they can to make their patient comfortable on the transfer in to the hospital, but they cannot smooth out this street.
Those of us who have been paying Enid sales tax for more than 70 years feel that the city of Enid could and should spend a very, very small percentage of their budget to remedy this problem.
