Letter: Make Oakwood Mall an asset, not a liability

ENID, Okla. — Let’s forget about getting rid of Oakwood Mall and concentrate on it being an asset, not a liability.

Enid offers incentives to bring in new business and to some that want to expand. Why can’t they do that same for the mall?

The mall, with its controlled climate, brings in a lot of shoppers from the Enid area. Without this incentive, they will go to other towns that have malls. Enid’s sales volume and tax revenue will go down.

As the economy improves, we would be prepared. It would be an incentive for new businesses to locate here as space would be available.

Once the mall is destroyed, it is gone forever.
