Now faith is ...

ENID, Okla. — “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1)

It’s amazing what one tiny seed can produce: a bushel or more of apples; a crop big enough to feed a family for months; a Redwood tree strong enough to stand rigid and tall for centuries; a palm tree flexible enough to bend, unbroken, to the ground during a hurricane.

Did you know the bamboo seed occupies the earth for up to five years before even a tiny sprout emerges, yet, within six months the bamboo will rise to more than 100 feet tall, its roots strong and full of nourishment?

Every seed created by God is different and intentionally designed to replenish and multiply, and each seed finds its way to the surface in its due season.

What has faith got to do with seeds? Well, in Luke 17, beginning with verse 5, the apostles came up to Jesus and ask Him to “give them more faith.”

Jesus then told them they didn’t need more faith. “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, be uprooted and planted in the sea and it will obey you.” So simple … a tiny seed of faith and a ‘say so’ from your mouth will produce results. (Note to self: Watch what you say). In Matthew 17:20, the disciples brought a young boy to Jesus because they were unable to cure him. Jesus rebuked the demon from the young boy, and it came out of him. The disciples ask Jesus privately, “Why couldn’t we drive out the demon?” I love Jesus’ answer, “Because of the littleness of your faith. For truly I say unto you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, move from here and it will move; nothing (no thing) will be impossible to you.” That is so powerful!

Seeds come in all forms, my friends, not just plants and trees. God’s Word is seed, money is seed, time is seed. Every spoken word that a comes out of your mouth is seed, be it good or bad, and it gets planted wherever it’s sown. I guess the most import seed of all is Jesus. God wanted a family, so He planted His only begotten Son that whosoever believed on Him should not perish, but have eternal life (John 3:16).

Saints, God has placed within each of us a measure (seed) of faith (Romans 12:3). He planted it there as a baby, in the soil of your spirit. Yet, all He requires is a portion of that faith, no bigger than a mustard seed, to command the mulberry tree in your life to be uprooted and planted in the sea. Speak to your mountain! Only believe ... and don’t doubt in your heart, and it will be done for you (Mark 11:23-24). My favorite.

Faith is like electricity or the wind. You cannot see it with the natural eye, but its force is proven by its results in your life. It’s an invisible substance. God used His faith to create the universe. “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear (Hebrews 11:3).” Now faith is!

We use our faith every day people. Without thinking, we sit down in a chair, having full faith that chair will hold us; without thinking, we get in our car and take off down the road, having full faith that car is gonna get us to our desired destination; every day, we go to work, having full faith that our job is going to produce a paycheck so we can pay our bills and put food on our table. Faith is the ability to believe, saints, and that already exists within you.

Your faith is like a muscle; the more you use it, the stronger it will get. Just remember, whatever you choose to believe decides whether it will be productive or destructive to your life. That’s one of the reasons faith is so important to God. The Bible says it’s impossible to please God without faith (Hebrews 11:6).

He knows just how powerful faith is and He wants you to have all you have hoped for. People, you can change your circumstances when you change the direction of your believing. “If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth (Mark 9:23).”

I like what Bill Winston says, “Faith is the master key. It will open every door, access every promise. Faith is what is needed to get you to the other side.”

The most important way to increase your faith is by hearing the Word. “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17).” Medicate on the Word. Memorize Scriptures. Get into a good church that teaches the Word. Hear it every chance you get. It will build your faith and you will move mountains. I promise!

Faith is now, folks. Faith is living like you can’t lose. Think about it. What would you do if you knew you couldn’t lose? Faith is knowing: “If God be for me, who can be against me?” Remember, God is the Lord of the harvest, and He pays in dividends.

The Bible clearly teaches there is life beyond the grave. We are definitely going to live forever … somewhere. It’s your choice and it’s your faith in Jesus Christ that guarantees that where He is, we may be, also (John 14:1-3).

Increase your faith, beloveds. Keep the Faith, and worship somewhere today.

Save nothing, have nothing in there. Then Congress and the entire nation could have nothing in view only what they made themselves.
