Letter: Samaritan’s place

Enid News and Eagle

ENID, Okla. — “Diamond in the Rough,” “A slice of Heaven,” “A Godsend.” I don’t know what to call it, but let me tell you about it.

My wife, Clara, and I were needing a place to stay in Enid for an extended period of time for medical purposes.

A nurse at Mercy Clinic Oncology-Enid and told me about a church that had redone their parsonage, and were letting folks stay there that were in our situation.

The name of the church is Christ First Covenant Bible Fellowship. I called Rev. Jody Schmidt, and he told me all about the little house and about the small congregation of (18) members who rolled up their sleeves and made it happen. It took (8) months to completely re-do the house.

They not only “talk the talk, they walk the walk.”

It cost not one dime when you leave. We were there for (50) days.

Thank you Pastors Jody and Daphine Schmidt and your whole congregation for your hospitality, and a wonderful “home away from home.”

L.O. and Clara Spray
