Enid News and Eagle
ENID, Okla. —
A special thanks to the 2,344 citizens that went to their polling place to cast a ballot for the city of Enid workers seeking a union and collective bargaining rights. This privilege is now extended to city workers which is already being enjoyed by the dity of Enid fire and police employee unions.
I am rather puzzled why so many people cast a ballot against the city employees having the privilege of the union since our fire and police have this privilege. After all, the city employee union will not be allowed to strike and if they can not reach an agreement with the city, the dispute will go to mediation or arbitration.
It is a true shame that 1,068 people took a stance against their city employees. Shame, shame.
Congratulations to our city employees having their union.
