ENID, Okla. —
When Cal Thomas spoke the other night at Emmanuel Baptist Church, the question was raised: What are 30 million low-income people going to do for health insurance if Obamacare is demolished?
There is nothing else for them on the horizon.
To which Mr. Thomas replied that conservatives do have a plan, which is market-driven.
But market forces are why low-income people cannot afford health insurance premiums in the first place and are faced with plans that don’t cover pre-existing conditions and/or place caps on coverage for chronic illnesses.
Are we citizens to be like those in Jesus’ Good Samaritan story who saw a person in need of medical help and just walked on by?
