Letter: 'A sinking ship’

ENID, Okla. — Once again, the “big rats” have deserted the ship, but not before giving themselves a big bonus of not having to be on Obamacare.

Our government is a sinking ship and no one seems to care, except about getting elected again, or seeing which one can be a bigger pervert and get elected.

Jesus said in Luke 11:17: “But he, knowing their thoughts, said to them, every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and a house divided against a house falls.”

The old saying is an apple falls not far from the tree. I’d suggest everyone read Jonathan Cohn’s book, “The Harbinger.”

Isaiah 9:10-11: “The bricks now have fallen down, but we will rebuild with hewn stones; the sycamores are cut down, but we will replace with cedars.”

Tom Daschle quoted these words in the House at 9/11.

John Edwards quoted the same ones and both quoted curse not knowing what it meant. Both fell from grace.

President Obama quoted the same at Ground Zero.

We had 9/11, and seven years later the stock market fell and here in 2014 another seven years ... look out.

It’s time for God’s born again people to do what II Corinthians 7:14 says: to repent and ask forgiveness if we expect to see America survive.

But how could they not love Him enough? He had something to offer all of them. Some He healed, others He forgave, and to all He offered hope and salvation.

Nineteen years ago today — at 9:02 a.m. — an unspeakable act was committed against Oklahomans and this nation, when conspirators led by Timothy McVeigh blew up the Alfred P. Murrah Building in downtown Oklahoma City, killing 168 people — 19 of them children in a building day care center.

Last year there were 15.6 million new cars sold in this country, and 41 million pre-owned vehicles.
But I only care about one of those cars, the one that recently came to live with us.

  • Smoking in Enid’s public parks may be banned by city

Banning smoking from parks has several upsides. For one, we all know smoking is not good for you, for those who smoke and those who breathe second-hand smoke. Also, smoking causes a litter problem in parks. Cast-aside cigarette butts are not attractive.

  • Because there are so many unopposed incumbents, open seats draw the most activity

The primary election is June 24. If no Democrats filed to run, the winner of that contest will be the next representative. If no candidate receives at least half of the vote, a runoff election with the top two vote-getters will be Aug. 26.

Somebody hates the fact somebody else has more stuff, more land, more resources, than they do, so they go to war.
