Enid News and Eagle
ENID, Okla. —
I want to thank the Enid News and Eagle for their very positive coverage of the work done by the Garfield County Drug and Alcohol Coalition and Preventionworkz.
We are a concerned group of citizens, who are not against drinking, but are dedicated to educating and informing our citizens about responsible drinking, as well as prescription drug abuse and other substance abuse related issues.
We have two programs that are ongoing at the present time: prescription drug takebacks and responsible beverage service and sales training.
I would also like to thank the business establishments that have been cooperative in having their staff attend these training events.
We would hope that by offering these training courses free-of-charge, business owners and employees can be educated about the consequences of selling alcohol to underage drinkers.
Prescription drop boxes are located at the Enid Police Department and the Garfield County Sherriff’s Office.
It is our hope that the efforts by Preventionworkz and the Coalition will make a positive affect on our community.
A big thanks also is due to the Enid Police Department and Garfield County Sheriff’s office for the work they continue to do.
They could use all of our help with these issues.
No one should lose a loved one because of lack of education or irresponsibility.
