Enid News and Eagle
ENID, Okla. —
We that inhabit the Oakwood Mall on a daily basis to walk, talk, shop and eat are wondering if any thought has been put into what to do with the many bus loads of children that come with Tri-State and the various school functions during the year. In the good years, we have seen 60 buses parked in front.
Even this last year, we have seen 20 or 30.
The mall is about the only venue large enough to entertain and feed these many busloads of kids.
I realize there are places that will hold that many, but none have even the mall’s slim pickings for food.
Thirty-five million dollars would do a lot of remodeling and bringing in of a variety of stores and restaurants, which would draw shoppers in as well, maybe better, than the new “plan.”
Sometimes in Enid, the old is a better idea than the new.
We are not Oklahoma City and never will be, but it is starting to look like that is what the leaders are trying to do.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
