    Funeral service for Dorothy I. Pralle, 85, a resident of Presbyterian Village North in Dallas, Texas, and formerly of Garber, Okla., will be 1 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2014, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Garber, with Pastor Scott Ray officiating. Interment will follow in Garber Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
    Mrs. Pralle was born May 8, 1928, in Kiefer, Okla., to Joseph Fred and Anna Evans Keyes Dose and died Wednesday, April 9, 2014, in Dallas, Texas.
    She was raised in Drumright, Okla.
    She received her undergraduate degree in music education from Oklahoma State University and her master’s degree in education from Phillips University.
    She moved to Garber, Okla., upon her marriage.
    A strong believer in the arts and learning, she dedicated her life to teaching, beginning her career as a band director and music educator. After her children entered school she returned to the classroom, teaching elementary grades and gifted children until her retirement.

    A private family graveside service for Frieda Mae Isbell, 57, of Oklahoma City, was held in Waukomis Cemetery. The Rev. David Jones officiated under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
    She was born Jan. 13, 1957, to Bill and Barbara “Woodward” Isbell in Enid, Okla., and passed away Monday, April 7, 2014, in Oklahoma City.
    She grew up in Waukomis, and while in high school worked at Enid Memorial Hospital, where she began her career path in health care. She graduated from Waukomis High School in 1975. She attended the University of Oklahoma. She received a bachelor of science degree in May 1993 from the University of Central Oklahoma.

  • Catalina Alvarado

    Catalina was born Dec. 1, 1936, in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico, the daughter to Jose Duran and Maria Consuelo Barreto and passed on Tuesday, April 15, 2014.
    She was raised and educated in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico.
    Catalina married Hector Alvarado on May 21, 1961. They moved to Enid, Okla., with the Air Force in 1980.
    She was a very devout Catholic mother that prayed daily for her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling to Germany and throughout Europe, where she would learn the culture and language wherever she was.
    She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Hector Lopez Alvarado of Enid; four children, Sandra Ann Jorns of Dekalb, Ill., Alejandro Lopez Alvarado (Christina) of Texas, Lindalee Hendershot (Brian) of Edmond, and Sonia Catherine Ensz (Eric) of Oklahoma City; and 12 grandchildren.

  • Margaret R. Speece

    A private family graveside service for Margaret R. Speece, 92-year-old Enid, Okla., resident, will be held Saturday, April 19, 2014, in Restland Cemetery, Dallas, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.
    Margaret was born Nov. 9, 1921, in Fayetteville, Ark., to Elam W. and Margaret (Barnes) Jackson and died peacefully at Golden Oaks Nursing Home on Sunday, April 13, 2014.
    Her family moved to Ponca City, Okla., where she graduated from Ponca City High School. She was active in the high school choir, the study of the piano and a member of the Order of the Rainbow for Girls. Upon graduation, she attended Oklahoma State University.
    On Dec. 1, 1952, she married James Speece in Fort Smith, Ark. The couple owned and operated several jewelry stores across the southwest.
