ENID, Okla. —
Funeral service for Dean Richard Dubbs, 73, of Cherokee, will be 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at Friends Church in Cherokee, with the Rev. Mary Irby officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery with military honors by the Army Honor Guard. Arrangements are under the direction of Goodwin Funeral Home, Cherokee. Viewing from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. The casket will be open at the church before the service and remain closed after the service.
Dean was born Aug. 22, 1939, in Byron to Carl and Minnie (Kasterke) Dubbs and died Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, in Enid, Okla.
Dean graduated from Lambert High School.
Following graduation, he was drafted into the U.S. Army. After his tour of duty, he was honorably discharged.
Upon returning to Cherokee, he and Judith Domnick were married. They had one son, Ray Dean.
Dean worked for the Cherokee Feed Lot and the Cherokee Sale Barn. He later became a partner in the LDR Cattle Co. He worked as a crop adjustor and retired after 10 plus years of service.
He is survived by his son, Ray Dean Dubbs and wife Jennifer; sister, Della Mondick; and brother, David Dubbs.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Deloris Martin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House through Goodwin Funeral Home.
