The funeral for Joe D. Brownell, 87, of Medicine Lodge, Kan., will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church, Medicine Lodge. Pastor Tom Walters will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge. Arrangements are by Larrison Funeral Home, Medicine Lodge. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the funeral home.
He was born Dec. 19, 1920, in Fairview to Albet Henry and Edith Tea Brownell and died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007, at Attica Long Term Care, Attica, Kan.
He had lived in Medicine Lodge since 1951, moving from Fruita, Colo. He worked for National Gypsum Co. for 35 years in Medicine Lodge. He was a Christian.
He married Lena Woods Feb. 6, 1943, in Fairview.
Surviving are his wife, Lena; five sons, Albert, Troy and Benny, all of Medicine Lodge, Charles of Hamian, N.Y., and Terry of Greeley, Colo.; three daughters, Dona Dittman of Dodge City, Kan., Lena Morris of Greeley and Ella Ghouse of Garland, Texas; three brothers, Robert Brownell of Fruita, Henry Brownell Jr. of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Lester Brownell of Springfield, Mo.; one sister, Bertie Countryman of Kansas City, Mo.; 16 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, three brothers, three sisters and a grandson.

LENA PHYLLIS LONG
The funeral for Lena Phyllis Long, 78, of Garland, Texas, formerly of Wood-ward, will be 2:30 p.m. today at Billings Funeral Home Chapel. Jarel Hansen will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
She was born Sept. 22, 1929, in Moore-land to Elmer and Dorothy Smith Croisant and died Wednes-day, Dec. 26, 2007, in Garland.
She graduated from Modesto (Calif.) High School in 1948. She married Wilbur Eugene Long June 8, 1950, in Woodward. She was a licensed practical nurse. She worked at Woodward Hospital and for Dr. Flack. She worked for Dr. Braly until her retirement.
Surviving are two daughters, Phyllis Parker and Char Astler, both of Garland; one son, Chris Long of Capron; two sisters, Veda Gonser of Mooreland and Judy McAdoo of Woodward; three brothers, Deon Croisant of Woodward, Jesse Croisant of Guymon and Jarel Hansen of Checotah; six grandchildren; and fivc great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Wilbur July 5, 2005, and one daughter.

She was born April 28, 1936, in Cleo Springs to Daniel B. and Sarah Young Carter and died Wed-nesday, Dec. 26, 2007, in Integris Bass Baptist Health Center, Enid.
She attended school in Cleo Springs. She married Perry F. Witt Feb. 15, 1954, in Jet. They operated the local movie theater and Medford Dry Cleaners. She worked at Smrcka’s Dairy Snack and was a seamstress for many years. She worked at Grant County Bank in Medford and retired in April 1999. She married Donald M. Sawyer in 1994. She was a member of First Christian Church in Medford, Order of Eastern Star, Medford and Blackwell. She was active in Medford Order of Rainbow for girls where she was mother advisor.
Surviving are one daughter, Cheryl Ann Witt of Rocky Mount, N.C.; one son, Steve Witt of Braman; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Sawyer, one son, two brothers and two great-granddaughters.

JAMES ROBERT FLESHMAN
A memorial service for James Robert Fleshman, 71, will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are by Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.
He was born March 21, 1936, in Cheyenne to Harry and Alta Clester Fleshman and died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2007, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.
He served in the Army as a medic.
He married Violet Crandall Sept. 19, 1962. He worked in construction and manufacturing.
Surviving are three sons, Roy Fleshman of Morrison, Jeff Fleshman of Medford and Craig Fleshman of Enid; two sisters, Marie Roberts and Blanche Service, both of Enid; one brother, Gerald Fleshman of Lamar, Colo.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by one son, two sisters and three brothers.

He was born Aug. 10, 1962, in Guymon to Edna Eagan and Robert Gray and died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2007, at his home.
He graduated from Alva High School in 1980 and attended Rose State College for two years. He returned to Alva and worked with the family-owned Dairy Queen. He was a member of Alva Zion Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his parents, Edna and Bob of Alva and one brother, Mike, of Perkins.

The graveside service for Wanda Lou (Helterbrand) Hart, 73-year-old Enid resident, will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Jim Henry will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.
Wanda was born Oct. 15, 1934, in Dallas, TX to Albert and Alta (Wimberly) Helterbrand and died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007, at Integris Northwest Specialty Hospital.
She graduated from Drummond High School in 1953.
She married George E. Hart and the couple was stationed all over the United States as he was in the military. They settled in Tampa, FL where Wanda was a homemaker. After George’s death in 1981, she moved back to Enid to be closer to her family. She loved to read.
She is survived by her only son, George Hart and wife Alanna of Vail, CO; one grandson, Curtis; two sisters, Margaret Simon of Rogers, AR and Barbara Beckner of Drummond; one brother, Clinton Helterbrand of Lahoma; one granddaughter, Lindsey Hart of Alabama; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one brother Dwayne.
