She graduated from Carmen High School in 1955. She attended Carmen Baptist Church. She lived and worked most of her life in Enid.
Surviving are three sisters, Maude Hackett and Joyce Murray, both of Enid, and Linda Farrand of Fort Supply; and one brother, Philip McCray of Enid.
She was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.

LEROY C. THOMPSON

He was born May 26, 1954, in Columbia City, Ind., to Robert and Edna Addis Thompson and died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2006, in Woodward.
He attended school in Columbia City and later served in the military. He married Gale D. Egolf. He later moved to Woodward and married Janie Sanders Dunkin July 14, 1990. He worked for the city of Woodward and then for Weatherford A.L.S., where he became the night supervisor.
Surviving are his wife Janie, of the home; children, Chad Thompson, Tabitha Thompson and Christina Thompson; three brothers, Deloren Ryder Thompson, Robert Thompson and Jesse Thompson; and two grandchildren.

HELEN B. FISHBACK
There will be no service for Helen B. Fishback, 95, of Cherokee. A private family burial will be at a later date in Cherokee Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are by Goodwin Funeral Home of Cherokee.
She was born July 6, 1911, in Cyril to George and Flora Moser and died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2006, in Cherokee.
She moved with her family at a young age to Alva. She attended Lambert schools graduating from high school there. She married Howard Peck in 1933. They moved to Cherokee where she worked for Baker’s Department Store, the newspaper and Geis’ Insurance Office. He died in 1951. She married Fay Fishback in 1955. He died in 1975. She was a volunteer at the hospital and served as bailiff for several years. She moved to Cherokee manor in 1999.
Surviving are three daughters, Paige Diel, Donna Kendrick and Phyllis Stone.
She was preceded in death by both husbands.

ESTHER DOROTHEA PECK
The funeral for Esther Dorothea Peck, 77, of Watonga, will be 10 a.m. today at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Watonga. The Rev. Paul Schroeder will officiate. Burial will be in Omega Cemetery, Omega. Arrangements are by Wilkinson Mortuary of Watonga.
She was born Aug. 22, 1929, near Winside, Neb., to Paul and Minnie Mach and died Monday, Oct. 2, 2006.
She grew up in Omega and graduated from Omega High School. She married Hugh Peck Oct. 2, 1949, in Watonga and they moved to Sheldon, Mo., where they lived for 14 years, before moving to Cheyenne Wells, Wyo., where they farmed for nine years. They moved back to Omega in 1975. She was a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Watonga. She was active in Cedar Valley Home Extension Club and served on Blaine County Election Board.
Surviving are two sons, Hugh Peck Jr. of Fairview and Sid Peck of Omega; two daughters, Dorothy Sponsel of Ulysses, Kan., and Susan Peck of Topeka, Kan.; one brother, Darrell Mach of Knoxville, Tenn.; one sister, Lorraine Mach of Watonga; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one brother.

He was born Oct. 4, 2006, in Oklahoma City to Kevin Gilbert and Rachel Wright and died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006.
Surviving are his parents, Gilbert and Rachel, of the home in Watonga; two sisters, Serena Gilbert and Marissa Wright, of the home; maternal grandparents, Polly Temple of New Mexico and Clegg Wright of Clinton; and paternal grandfather, Frankie Gilbert of Geary.
ALLEN R. BREWER
Burial with full military rites for Allen R. Brewer will be at a later date in Fort Rosecran’s Cemetery, San Diego. He was cremated at his request. Ar-rangements are by Telo-phase Crematory Society of San Diego.
He was born Jan. 8, 1923, in Enid and died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2006, in San Diego.
He grew up in Enid and enlisted in Army Air Corps where he served as a pilot in the 20th Air Force stationed in Guam. His unit received a presidential citation for activities against Japan in World War II.
Surviving are his wife Ruth Louise Brewer of San Diego; daughter, Carol Albright of Humble, Texas; stepchildren, Bob and Peggy Sawyer of San Diego and Colorado Springs, Colo.; a brother, Jess Brewer of Enid; three sisters, Dorothy Carner and Norma Hatfield, both of Enid, and Naomi Batson of Billings, Mo.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother and one daughter.

SANFORD ‘SANDY’ H. NEWSOM

He was born Sept. 30, 1913, in Olney, Texas, to John A. and Mary Doughter Newsom and died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006, at Golden Oaks Nursing Home.
He attened school in Shawnee and graduated from Yukon High School in 1933. He attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University from 1934-1938. He received his Master’s of Education degree from Phillips University. He married Ettamae Fyffe July 29, 1939. She died Oct. 14, 2000. He taught in Driftwood before teaching several years in Kansas. He later taught and coached at Enid High School for two years and was principal at Emerson Junior High School for 17 years, before retiring in 1976. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Surviving are one daughter, Sandra Geurkink of Enid; one son, Dan Newsom of Shreveport, La.; two grandsons; two great-granddaughters; and one great-grandson.
In addition to his wife, Ettamae, he was preceded in death by three brothers and six sisters.

He was born May 6, 1933, in Lawton to James and Nellie Thomas Elrod and died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006, in Enid.
He married Delores Winter April 9, 1956, in Meeker. He worked for Sears and Roebuck as an appliance tech for 13 years prior to opening his own business, Jim’s Appliance Service which he operated for 40 years before retiring in 2002. He was a member of Enid C.B. Radio Club, working with Garfield County Civil Defense during severe weather events. He also was instrumental in the installation of tornado warning sirens.
Surviving are his wife, Delores of the home; two sons, Steve Elrod and Dennis Elrod, both of Enid; one daughter, Lisa Mathews of Midwest City; one brother, Charles Elrod of Winfield, Kan.; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.

She was a cook at Mutual School and later at Colonial Manor Nursing Home. She was a desk clerk at Wayfarer Inn and Oil Inn and was a member of Church of the First Born.
Surviving are one daughter, Darla Wyatt of Woodward; two sons, Lynn Winters of Edmond and Konnie Winters of Balko; 11 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold, one daughter, one granddaughter, one brother and three sisters.

Jacqueline “Jackie” Rose Siddens Brumley, age 90, was born Feb. 26, 1916, in Seymour, Texas to Jesse Randy Siddens and Eunice H. Nichols and died early Monday, Oct. 2, 2006, in the Methodist Care Center at The Commons. Her body was cremated at her request. Ser-vice and burial will be at a later date in Seymour, Texas.
She grew up and attended school in Seymour, Texas. On March 9, 1940, she married James Marcus Brumley. She was a housewife. Before moving to Enid in 1997, she lived in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Her daughter Sherry and her husband Jerry Cornwell of Enid; one sister, Jo Foster of Spring, Texas; one brother, Jimmy Randy and his wife Beverly Siddens of Pantego, Texas; and two grandchildren, Sean and Kristin Cornwell survive her.
Her husband and two sisters preceded her in death.

A memorial service for Jimmy “Jim” Earl Prewett, 53, of Enid, will be today, October 7, 2006, at 10 a.m. in the Oakwood Christian Church with Reverend Michael Frisbee officiating. Services are under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.
Jim was born on Oct. 5, 1952, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Jimmy and Margaret Ann Garrison Prewett and died on Oct. 3, 2006, at Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
His love for sports started out as his birth announcement was made in the sports section of the newspaper, instead of the life section. He grew up in Maysville, Oklahoma and graduated from Maysville High School in 1970. He attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant. In 1972, Jim married Sandy Baldridge and they had two children, Marjorie and Mitch. They made their home in Cushing, where he worked for Phillips Pipeline for 15 years. They moved to Enid in 1986, and Jim worked for Sun Pipeline for 11 years. Jim coached little league baseball, girls softball, Kremlin High School girls basketball, Chisholm High School boys baseball, assisted Chisholm High School football and Enid Legion baseball. Jim later married Kathy Williams on June 2, 1990, in Enid, where they made their home. He was a member of the Oakwood Christian Church.
Jim was preceded in death by his grandparents and three uncles.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy of the home; his parents, Jimmy and Margaret Prewett of Bella Vista, Arkansas; children, Marjorie Gooding and her husband, Matt of Tulsa, OK, and Mitch Prewett of Los Angeles, CA; stepdaughters and their husbands, Debbie and Stacey Simmons of Kremlin, OK, Christie and Matt Watkins of Carrier, OK, Michelle and Brandon Gilbert of Offutt Air Force Base, NE, and Jennifer and James Childers of Little Rock Air Force Base, AR; one sister, Jamie Garrison of Flippin, AR; 12 grandchildren; and other relatives.
