LYDIA R. ROTTMAYER

A memorial service for Lydia Ruth Routh Rottmayer, 80, will be at a later date. Arrangements are by Billings Funeral Home, Woodward.

She was born to Joshua Robert and Almira Henrietta Eulalia Simpson Routh and died Fri-day, May 5, 2006, at Woodward Regional Hospital.

She attended grade school at Oakland County rural school, graduating from Sharon High School in 1944 and then Northwestern State College in Alva where she received her teaching certificate. She taught first through eighth grade at Minneola rural school near Clearlake in Beaver County.

She married Kernie Leroy Rottmayer and in 1945 they made their home in Woodward. She worked at Bob-In Café, Jot-Em-Down Store, Tregos West Wear, Campbells Home and Auto, S&H; Green Stamp Store, Discount by the Yard/Fashion Fabrics, Outhier Insurance Agency and Oklahoma Crop and Livestock Reporting Service, National Association of State Department of Agriculture. She received several awards for outstanding service while working for the OCLRS.

She was active in Boy Scouts of America, receiving the Den Mother Award and was the first woman to receive the Silver Fawn Award for outstanding service and contribution in the Great Salt Plains Council. She was a certified Red Cross swimming instructor. She attended First Baptist Church of Woodward.

Surviving are her husband, Kernie of the home; two sons, Vernon Leroy Rottmayer of Wickenburg, Ariz., and Larry Max Rottmayer of Yukon; one daughter, Donna Rae White of Alva; two brothers, Earl Routh of Woodward and Willis Routh of Ponca City; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
