ENID, Okla. — Gloria Powell, 69, of Garber, Okla., was the daughter of Leon and Vada Jane (Wade) Stanfill. She was born May 10, 1944, in Gainesville, Texas, but was raised by H.H. “Tobe” Pruitt and his wife Vada.

Gloria went to be with her heavenly father on Saturday, June 15, 2013, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center, Enid, Okla.

She graduated from Garber High School in 1962.

Gloria lived in Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado and Texas, before returning to Garber, Okla., in 1984.

Gloria enjoyed her job. She went to work for the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, District 5, as a case manager in 1988, and retired in 2010, after 22 years of service.

She married her sweetheart, Keith E. Powell on July 15, 1989, in Garber, Okla.

Gloria took great pride in Garber, and was the mayor of Garber for one year.

She was an avid shopper and enjoyed gardening when her health would allowed her to work in her flower beds. She enjoyed going to and watching her grandchildren’s sporting events and just loved having her family around.

Gloria was a member of First United Methodist Church and served on the board of trustee’s.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at First United Methodist Church in Garber. Pastor Linda Pope will officiate.   Interment will be in Garber Cemetery, Garber. Service is under the direction of Dugger Funeral Home, Garber.

Memorials may be made to charity of donor’s choice in care of Dugger Funeral Home, P.O. Box 66, Garber, OK 73738.

Gloria is survived by her husband, Keith of the home; son, Bradley Sanderson of Edmond, Okla.; daughter, Stacy Grubbs of Portales, N.M.; brothers, Larry Pruitt and Randy Pruitt, both of Oklahoma City, Okla.; sisters, Glenda Sutton of Edmond, Okla., and Melinda Cordero of Wells Point, Texas; and 17 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, H.H. “Tobe” Pruitt and Vada Pruitt, and one granddaughter.

     De was born June 2, 1926, in Medford, the son of George Alexander and Myrtle Biby Hamilton. De graduated from Gore High School. He entered the U.S. Navy on July 3, 1944 and was discharged on June 13, 1946. After De returned to Medford, he and Emma Jean Carrier were married on Sept. 29, 1946, in Nash. De worked as a butcher and retired in 1989. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Medford and was ordained as a Deacon in 1951.

     Pauline was born April 8, 1924, at Butler, in Custer County, Okla., the daughter of Walter and Orla Baird Connolly. She and Loren E. Hopkins were married on Sept. 14, 1952, in Jet and they made their home in Jet, where she continued to live until April 16, 2014. She was a homemaker and caregiver who cared for others many times. Pauline was a member of the First Christian Church in Nash and also was a member of Chisholm Trail Cowboy Church. She was an active member of Jet Industrious Oklahoma Home and Community Education organization.
