ENID, Okla. — Service honoring the life of Jerry R. Hays of Enid, will be 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, with Pastor Kenneth Wade officiating. Graveside service will follow in Enid Cemetery with full military honors of distinguished service presented by the United States Air Force Silver Talon Honor Guard. Service is under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

Jerry was born Sept. 26, 1952, in Enid, Okla., to Clayton and Agnes Goodhue Hays and passed from this life Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013.

He was raised and educated in Enid, graduating from Enid High in 1971.

After graduation, he joined the U.S. Air Force and served honorably in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged after seven years of service to his country.

He returned home to Enid before moving to Fort Worth, Texas, where he was the service manager for Bright Trucking Co. for 15 years. He was later moved to the company’s Houston office, also serving as the service manager.

On July 6, 1991, he married the love of his life, Angie, in Enid. The couple made their home for a short time in Houston before returning to Enid to be near family.

Jerry was the shop manager for Enid Ford New Holland before becoming the purchasing manager for Hamm and Phillips, where he worked until he was medically unable.

He is survived by his wife, Angie of the home; son, Shea Poage and wife Jennifer of Lahoma; daughter, Jenifer Luper and husband Brandon of Enid; sister, Zona Johnson of Enid; children from a previous marriage, Janell Weber-Parks and Jason Weber and their families; 12 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father and brother, Ronnie.

Memorials may be made in his name to the Oklahoma Medical Research Division with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.

     De was born June 2, 1926, in Medford, the son of George Alexander and Myrtle Biby Hamilton. De graduated from Gore High School. He entered the U.S. Navy on July 3, 1944 and was discharged on June 13, 1946. After De returned to Medford, he and Emma Jean Carrier were married on Sept. 29, 1946, in Nash. De worked as a butcher and retired in 1989. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Medford and was ordained as a Deacon in 1951.

     Pauline was born April 8, 1924, at Butler, in Custer County, Okla., the daughter of Walter and Orla Baird Connolly. She and Loren E. Hopkins were married on Sept. 14, 1952, in Jet and they made their home in Jet, where she continued to live until April 16, 2014. She was a homemaker and caregiver who cared for others many times. Pauline was a member of the First Christian Church in Nash and also was a member of Chisholm Trail Cowboy Church. She was an active member of Jet Industrious Oklahoma Home and Community Education organization.
