ENID — Funeral service for Clifford Lee Johnson, 78, of Enid, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at First Baptist Church, with Pastor Keith Miller officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the kind guidance of Stittsworth Funeral Service. Military graveside rites will be served by the United States Army.

Clifford was born Jan. 4, 1935, in Hardtner, Kan., the son of Charles and Carol Hearn Johnson and passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 28, 2013, in Enid.

Clifford later moved to Enid, where he attended Enid School System. He later joined the United States Army, where he was assigned to the missile battalion.

Clifford worked for Richardson Painting for many years and joined the Enid Fire Department at the age of 32, the oldest rookie. After retirement, he drove a truck for several years, local and cross country, but had to retire in 2006 due to bad health.

He loved to fish, garden, hunt and just being with family. Clifford loved the Lord and it showed.

Survivors include his wife, Donna of the residence; five children, Brenda Brakhage, Carma Miller, Gina Meritt, Verne Johnson and John Johnson and their families, all of Enid; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Judy Martin of Oklahoma City and Joyce Davis of Marlow; brother, Harold Johnson of Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Clifford was preceded in passing by two brothers, Ronald and Donald Johnson, and sister, Dorothy Settle.

The family has selected First Baptist Church Benevolent Fund as appropriate for memorial donations with Stittsworth’s coordinating.
