ENID, Okla. — The funeral for Ila Ruth Crain, 84-year-old Enid resident, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Central Christian Church. The Rev. John McLemore will officiate. Burial will follow in Timberlake Cemetery, near Jet. Visitation with family is 5-7 p.m. today, April 8, at Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel.

Ila was born Nov. 7, 1929, in Cherokee, Okla., to John and Onie (Glasgow) Woods and passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2014, at Greenbrier Nursing Home after a long battle with heart problems.

She graduated from Helena High School in 1947.

She married Gene Crain on July 11, 1947. To this union four children were born, Cheryl Lynn, Donald Gene Jr., Timothy Wayne and Diana Ruth. She was a special mom, grandma and great-grandma. She never missed a birthday or a special occasion with her kids and grandkids.

In 1981, after losing Gene, she went to work for Cheryl in her store for nine years, later going to Dillard’s for 15 years. She was an awesome sales lady and loved her customers.

She was a member of the Red Hat Ladies and the Sooner Sunday School Class. She enjoyed watching Tiger Woods golf, Thunder basketball, OU and OSU sports and any sporting event her grandkids were involved with.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene; her parents; brothers, Alvin, Junior and Vern Woods; granddaughter, Tracy Crain; brothers-in-law, Bill, Charlie and Jim Crain; and special friend, Vern Butler.

She is survived by her children, Cheryl and Roy Fore, Enid, Donnie Crain, Woodward, Tim and Deb Crain, Mt. Grove, Mo., and Diane and Butch Mason, Meno; grandchildren, Shannon Nichols, Shawn and Carmen Fore, Travis and Abbi Crain, Nathaniel and Tiffany Crain, Matt and Bridget Mason, Ashley and Scott Hardison, Katy and Andrew Nelson and Mark Mason; 18 great-grandchildren, Junior, Zoie, Tanner, Shelbi, Lyric, Sidney, Garrett, Allie, Elianna, Lily, Elizabeth, Maisyn, Evie, Preston, Carisma, Katharina, Macenzy and Makayla; sisters-in-law, Hilda and Betty Crain, Helena and Pat Crain, of Enid. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and special friends, Irene Green and Linda Bradford.

Memorials may be made to Feed the Kids through Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

    Frances “Sis” was born April 29, 1925, to Bruce and Nellie Fauchier Jones in Brownville, Texas, and passed away Sunday, July 13, 2014.
    She grew up in the Harmony community, southwest of Hennessey and attended Victory and Hennessey schools.
    Frances was a member of Harmony Church.

    H. Kenneth “Kenny” Miller, 92, of Welda, Kan., formerly of Garfield County, Okla., died Friday, July 18, 2014.
    Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday, July 28, 2014, at St. John Lutheran Church in Aliceville, Kan.
    He was born in Garfield County and married Norma Fay Wyman in 1941, in Douglas. They farmed in Covington until 1946. She died in 1989.
    Survivors include a sister, Mary Lou Beopple of Garfield County.

    Rick graduated from Fairview High School as Valedictorian in 1974. After graduation, he attended Oklahoma State University, graduating with honors. Rick was on the honor roll every year he attended OSU. While attending school at OSU, he was involved with the initial planning stages of the Glass Mountain State Park, northwest of Fairview.  He traveled to London, England, often, where he loved to spend time and loved anything to do with plants, gardening and flowers.
