Olin was a member of Kiwanis Club of Enid since 1974 and enjoyed driving the train at Meadowlake Park. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church since 1966.

He served on numerous boards, committees and commissions through the years, including Metropolitan Area Planning Commission, Youth and Family Services, Northern Oklahoma Development Association, RSVP, Enid Board of Education, Education Committee for the Association of County Commissioners, Legislative Committee of the Association of County Commissioners and County Commissioner Chairmen from the NW District of County Commissioners of Oklahoma.
