BERNICE WILMA LESLIE

A graveside service for Bernice Wilma Beckwith Leslie, 84, of Okeene will be 11 a.m. Friday at Pleasant Ridge Cem-etery southwest of Aline. The Rev. Jay Drawbridge will officiate. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Okeene. Visitation is 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

She was born Dec. 17, 1920, to Alonzo Gilbert and Stella Alma Corson Beckwith near Aline and died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2005, at Okeene Hospital.

She was raised near Aline, later moving with her family to Cherokee. She graduated from Cherokee High School.

She married Tomi Robbins Sr., and later Thomas Leslie. Both preceded her in death.

She worked as a supervisor at Birdseye Frozen Food Co. in Oregon. She moved to Alva and was charge aide at Share Rest Home, where she retired.

Surviving are one daughter, Wilma Alvarez of Portland, Ore.; one sister, Stella E. Rose of Bella Vista, Ark.; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to both husbands, she was preceded in death by three sons, one daughter, three brothers and one sister.

LAMAR C. BRIDGES

The funeral for Lamar Carl Bridges, 61, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Watonga, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Union Baptist Church, Watonga. The Rev. Carle King will officiate. Burial will be in Macendonia Cemetery, Watonga. Arrangements are by Russworm Funeral Home, Watonga.

He was born May 26, 1944, to Sydney and Lovesta Bridges and died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2005, in Oklahoma City.

He graduated from Watonga High School, served in the Army National Guard and was awarded the Sharpshooter Badge.

He married Leona Swanegan. He lived and worked in Okla-homa City in the tire industry. In recent years, he was employed by Community Action Agency working in maintenance for the Headstart program.

Surviving are one daughter, Kimberly LaDawn Bridges-Dobbins and one son, Lamar Carl Bridges Jr., both of Oklahoma City; three brothers and four sisters, Sidney Bridges of Santa Ana, Calif.; Hauley Bridges, Johnnie Mae Buchanan, and Marilyn Douglas, all of Watonga, Steve Bridges, Thelma Mewborn Orlando, and JoAnna Douglass Lenard, all of Oklahoma City.

He was preceded in death by three daughters, one brother and one sister.





BETTY JOAN WYKES LEE

A graveside service for Betty Joan Wykes Lee, 71, of Caldwell, Kan., will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Caldwell City Cemetery, Caldwell. Arrange-ments are by Day Funeral Home, Caldwell. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

She was born Sept. 20, 1934, and died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2005.

She was a homemaker.

Surviving are her husband, Walter Lee, of Caldwell; one son, Mike Lee of Caldwell; two daughters, Gayla Oathout and Brenda Sparks, both of Caldwell; two brothers, Donald Wykes of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Bruce Wykes of Conway Springs, Kan.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

HELEN J. WILEY

The funeral for Helen J. Wiley, 81, of Kiowa, Kan., will be 10 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church, Kiowa. The Rev. Gib Clark will officiate. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Kiowa. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Kiowa. Viewing will be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

She was born Jan. 28, 1924, in Alfalfa County to Homer and Nellie Jefferies Snodderly and died Monday, Oct. 24, 2005, at Kiowa District Hospital.

She married Harold L. Wiley March 24, 1945.

She was a retired nurse aid and a member of First Christian Church.

Surviving are her son, David Wiley of Medicine Lodge, Kan.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harold and by two daughters.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Kiowa District Hospital.





ESTHER PAULINE HOLT

The funeral for Esther Pauline Holt, 89, of Alva will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Wharton Funeral Chapel. Landis Trekell will officiate. Burial will be in Alva Municipal Cemetery. Arrange-ments are by Wharton Funeral Chapel.

She was born March 3, 1916, near Whitehorse to Blanche Crabb and Floyd Elmer "Short' Witchey and died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2005, at Pratt Regional Living Center.

She attended Pleasant Ridge rural grade school, Farry High School and graduated from Alva High School in 1935. She played basketball with both high schools.

She married Clifford Jasper Holt July 24, 1937, in Cherokee. They made their home in Alva. He died July 21, 1976.

She was a member of Alva Friends Church, working with the Missionary group, Chrysanthemum unit of Alva Garden Club and Busy Circle Quilting Club. She also served on the election board and with genealogy group in writing "Pioneer Footprints Across Woods County."

Surviving are two daughters, Madeline Cline of Pratt, Kan., and Ramona Shelite of El Reno; two sons, Stanley of Kiowa, Kan., and Allen of Rosenburg, Texas; two stepsons, Elvin of Alva, and Robert of Goddard, Kan.; two sisters Mary Lou Witchey and Gail Wilks, both of Alva; five brothers, Bill, Dean, Dale and Robert, all of Alva, and Earl of Warner, S.D.; 18 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband Clifford, she was preceded in death by one son, one sister, three brothers and one grandson.

DELEAH MAE PEFFLY

A graveside service for Deleah Mae Peffly, 81, of Amorita, will be 2 p.m. Friday in Waldron Cemetery, Waldron, Kan. Allen Hess will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Goodwin Funeral Home, Cherokee. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

She was born Nov. 3, 1923, in Amorita to Clifford and Leah Stewart Polson and died Monday, Oct. 24, 2005, at her home.

She married Alfred Peffly in Alva April 9, 1940. He died in 1996. She was a retired dairy farmer and artist.

She was a member of Rosedale Church of Christ, ABBD Senior Citizens and Alfalfa County Historical Society. She volunteered working with the deaf at Adams School in Enid and Jane Brooks School, Chickasha.

Surviving are three daughters, Janice Saxton of Placitas, N.M., Sheryl Bolenbaugh of Carrier and Anita Doherty of Amorita; one son, Roger Peffly of Amorita; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband Alfred, she was preceded in death by two brothers.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to ABBD Senior Citizens, Amorita-Byron Fire Department or Oklahoma Medical Research, Cancer Division.



EULA HODGE

The funeral for Eula Hodge, 94, of Perry, will be 3 p.m. Friday at the Assembly of God Church, Perry. The Rev's. James Guerrero and Lonnie Rutherford will officiate. Burial will be in Grace Hill Cemetery, Perry. Arrange-ments are by Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, Perry. Visitation will be 6 to 8p.m. today at the funeral home.

She was born Sept. 29, 1911, at Perry to Cornelius Dee "Tut" and Louisa Wartenbee Tuttle and died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2005, at Perry Memorial Hospital.

She attended Noble County rural school and Perry public schools.

She owned and operated the Corner Lunch Cafe and Bus Stop for 17 years. She traveled extensively to each of the 50 states and Japan. She was a member of Assembly of God Church, Perry.

Surviving are one son, Leo Sargent of Perry; two daughters, Ethel McNeal of Perry and Wanda Edwards of Yale; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, one daughter, two brothers and three sisters.

JUNE MCCASLIN

She was born June 23, 1930, at Northam, Southamp-ton, England, to William and Bessie Millard Pinnick and died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2005, at her home.

She married Gage Prewett in 1946. They lived and farmed in the Curtis community.

She married Ray McCaslin in 1965. They farmed and ranched southwest of Woodward. He died in 1997.

Surviving are one daughter, Bess Jones of Woodward; one son, Glen Prewett of Texarkana, Texas; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband Ray, she was preceded in death by one daughter and one grandson.

JOYCE "SUE' AILEY SANDERSON

She was born Nov. 10, 1939, in Depew to Leonard and Pearl Mullins Ailey and died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2005, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center.

She moved to Tonkawa as a young girl. She married Lloyd Sanderson in Tonkawa. He died in January 2004.

Surviving are one daughter, Rhonda Gray of Bartlesville; one stepdaughter, Stacy Grubbs of Portales, N.M.; one stepson, Brad Sanderson of Edmond; two brothers, Chuck Ailey of Ponca City and Archie Sanderson of Naples, Fla.; two sisters, Martha Legg of Moore and Obenetta Siegler of Graham, Texas; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband Lloyd, she was preceded in death by one daughter.

WILLIAM ELDON DAVIS

Recitation of the Rosary for William Eldon Davis will be said on Friday, October 28 at 7 pm at the Ladusau-Evans Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday the 29th day October, 2005 in St Gregory the Great Catholic Church, Enid, OK. Father Larry Kowalski will officiate. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. in the Billings Catholic Cemetery, Billings, OK. Arrangements made by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

He was born October 9, 1913 on a farm east of Billings to John Francis "Frantie" Davis and Estella Maria O'Donnell Davis and died October 24, 2005. He was baptized in Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Billings. He went to Elkhorn school for one year with Edith Caskey (later Mrs. George Bellmon) teacher. He attended St Joseph's Academy in Enid for seven years under the Sisters of Divine Providence, then three years in Billings High School, lettering in track and graduating in 1930 at age 16 as salutatorian of his class. After six years helping on the farm, he entered Enid Business College, graduating in 1937 to work for the George E Failing Company as a commercial artist and photographer until his retirement in November 1978. He also did photography in his spare time, including portraits, groups and over 500 weddings before retirement. He continued his photographic career well into his eighties. In Business College he met former school teacher, Ruth Minnix and they were married January 13, 1946 in St Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Enid and she passed away February 14, 2003. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree; and the Enid Camera Club for many years. To this union five children were born: Judith Ann, Mary margaret, Brian Francis, Eileen Elizabeth and Kathleen Sue. All five children attended Catholic Memorial High School in Enid. Judy is now Mrs. George Schroeder of San Antonio, TX; Mary Margaret is now Mrs Chris Andrew of Gainesville, FL, Brian married Mary Beth Meredith and together they own and operate Port Lugano in Enid, Eileen was married to David Thain and died suddenly at age 29. Kathy is Mrs. Ralph Cannon and they live in Sacramento, CA. There are 18 grandchildren and 21 1 ? 2 great grandchildren.

He is survived by his children; daughter Judy and husband George Schroeder and their children: Suzanne and husband Chris Throop and grandchildren Max -- Eli; Julie and husband Laurent Fouillet; son George Schroeder Jr; daughter Mary Margaret and husband Chris Andrew of Gainesville, FL and their children; Melissa and husband Jeff Patrello and grandchildren Dylan, Madison, Boone, Tex and Dutch; Jennifer and husband Joe Lamy; Benji Langford; Jeff Andrew and wife Gina and grandson Sam; Shane Andrew and wife Devonia; and Kristi and husband Sergio Avalos and grandchildren Juan, Laura, and Teo; son Brian Davis and wife Mary Beth and their children: Bridget and husband Johnny Chandler and grandchildren Jessica, Jacob and Jordan; John Davis and wife Leslie and grandchildren Shelbie and Sydnie; Daniel Davis; James Davis and wife Kelli and grancdhild Kennedie; and Charles Davis and wife Holli and granddaughter Madelyn; daughter Eileen's children; Jerry and Sherry Thain; and daughter Kathy and husband Ralph Cannon and children; Rob Cannon and grandchildren Robby Cannon and Isabella Cannon and daughter Sara Cannon.

He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth and daughter Eileen Thain.

RUTH PARSON

The funeral for Ruth Parson, 91, of Wakita will be Saturday, October 29, 2005 at 3 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, Wakita, OK. Rev. Les Bussell will officiate. Burial will follow in the Wakita Cemetery.

She was born Nov. 10, 1913 in Kingfisher, OK to Frank and Nora Hodges Elder and went to meet her Lord, Monday, October 24, 2005, at the Community Health Center, Wakita, Okla.

She grew up and attended school in Kingfisher. She married Russell Dale Parson on July 8, 1932 in Enid, OK. They lived in Pond Creek and Pryor, OK before making their home in Wakita in 1946. She worked for several years at the Community Health Center in Wakita.

She was a member of the Wakita United Methodist Church. She was a 55-year member and a past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. She had been a member of the Community Health Center family since November of 1989.

Surviving are one daughter, Peggy Samples of Wakita and three sons, Ronald Parson and wife Mary of Kaw City, OK, Larry Parson and wife Jeanne of Edmond, OK, Roger Parson and wife Dyann of Enid; seven grandsons, Keith Samples and wife Meggan of Calabasas, CA., Craig Samples and wife Carol of Long Valley, NJ, Kent Samples, Brad Parson and wife Brandy and Jason Parson, all of Edmond, OK, Randy Parson and Russell Parson of Kaw City, OK; 16 great-grandchildren (No. 17 due anytime). She is also survived by two sisters, Alta Cook of Wichita, KS and Thelma Root of Camino, CA and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell in 1992 after 60 years of marriage, infant daughter, Patricia, son-in-law Jim Samples, five sisters and a brother.

Memorials may be made to Community Health Center of Wakita. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to service time Saturday at the United Methodist Church. Arrangements are by Prairie Rose Funeral Home, Williams Chapel, Anthony, Kan. (Paid obit 10-27-1)





RICHARD W. MCCARTY

He was born May 27, 1927 in Jaunita, NE to Chester and Pauline Clausson McCarty and died October 24 at his home. He was raised in Colorado Springs where he attended and graduated from high school.

He attended Theological College graduating with a degree in Theology. He married Sue Bray, January 19, 1976 in Clayton, NM. He was a truck driver in Colorado and worked for C.D. James Trucking for several years. He retired from P.S.T. (Poor Starving Truck driving) in 1991. He lived in Keyes, OK in 1976, moved to Douglas, WY in 1980, then to Chadron, NE in 1983, then to Scotts Bluff, NE in 1986 and in 1993 moved to Enid. He was a member of the Ringwood Weslyan Church.

He is survived by his wife, Sue of the home, his children: Darell McCarty of Boise City, OK, Allen McCarty of Campo, CO, David McCarty of Amarillo, TX, Michael Sain of Enid, William Sain of Enid, Wesley Sain and wife Janelle of Guymon, OK, Jennifer Craddock and husband Rick of Woodward, OK, Paula Zielke and husband Mark of Turpin, OK, Cindy Osborne of Salt Lake City, UT; 18 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, 1 nephew and 3 neices.

He is preceded in death by 2 brothers.

ALICE K UKENA BURDICK

She was born June 3, 1913 to Pearl Marion and Hallie Isabell Bryant in Kansas City, MO and died October 24, 2005. She married Edwin John Ukena December 25, 1931. He preceded her in death June 3, 1993. She married Jesse Burdick. She worked at Vance Air Force Base as a dental technician for many years.

She is survived by her sons: Bill T. and wife Dorothy Ukena of Oklahoma City, Dennis B and wife Ruth Ukena of Oakland, FL; grandchildren Todd Ukena and wife Mikela of Weatherford, TX, Lynn Lorenz and husband Jeff of Oklahoma City, Bryan Ukena of Clarksville, AR, Audrey Ukena of Orlando, FL, Bobby and Eddie Ukena of Enid; great grandchildren Chris Lorenz, Allison Lorenz of Oklahoma City, Lauren Mikela Ukena of Weatherford, TX and sister I'Lee Semrad of Enid.

She is preceded in death by her husband Edwin John Ukena, her parents, a brother J.M. Bryand, a son Robert T. Ukena and grandson Randy Ukena.

Marie was born on August 14, 1933, to Donald Guy and Ruth Levina Ray Betts in Breckenridge, Texas and passed away October 26, 2005, at Highland Park Manor.

She graduated from Odessa High School, Odessa, Texas in May 1951. She worked at the First National Bank in Odessa from June 1951 to April 1960.

She was very proud of her Marine Corps service. She served from May 1960 to September 1961 in Washington, D.C.

She married Ronald Pair, May 1, 1964.

She worked at Central National Bank, Enid, from June 1968 to February 1970.

She was director of the Enid Opportunity School from July 1985 to August 1988.

She moved from Enid to Waukomis in August of 1992.

Surviving are one brother, Bob and wife Shirley Betts, of Enid; one nephew Rev. Scott and wife Melody Betts and family of Green Valley; one niece Debra Outhier and family of Fairview.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald on May 31, 1990, her parents and one brother John Paul.
