Betty Jean Adair-DeLozier

The funeral for Betty Jean Adair-DeLozier, 81, of Seiling will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at the First Christian Church, Seiling. Orville White, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, near Purnam. Arangements are by Redinger Funeral Home, Seiling.

She was born May 15, 1927, at Port to Charles Fitzgerald and Minnie Pearl Morrow Sullivan and died Saturday, July 19, 2008, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center, Enid.

She graduated from Putnam High School in 1945. She married Elvin Wesley “Jack” Adair April 16, 1946, at Wheeler, Texas. They made their home in Clinton and later moved to Putnam. She worked as a nurse aide at Clinton Regional Hospital, and later worked for both Tom Ruble and T. J. Ruble in their law office in Taloga. After her husband died in 1973, she worked as a rural mail carrier for the Putnam area. She transferred to the Seiling Post Office and was given the Chester and a portion of the Seiling rural routes. She was an Oklahoma delegate to the National Postal Convention numerous times. She retired in June, 2007. She married John DeLozier Feb. 11, 1977, at Putnam. They made their home in Seiling. He died Sept. 15, 1996. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God, Putnam.

Surviving are two sons, Dennis Adair of Seiling, and Darrell Adair of Putnam; one brother, Joe Sullivan of Weatherford; two sisters, Callie Beers of Putnam, and Dorothy Ownes of Marysville, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

In addition to both husbands, she was preceded in death by three sisters, and three brothers.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Area Medical Foundation.
