The funeral for R. K. Odgen, 79, of Woodward will be 2 p.m. Monday, July 21, 2008, in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Sheldon Riley will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements are by Billings Funeral Home, Woodward.
He was born March 29, 1929, in Clinton to Ross Nichols and Gladys Jean Glass Odgen and died Friday, July 18, 2008, at his home.
He attended school in Beaver and Guymon. In 1937 his family moved to Woodward and he attended school there. He joined his father building houses in 1945. He married Pearl Brown Aug. 2, 1947, in Woodward, where they made their home. He worked in the oilfield from 1951 - 1953. They lived in Liberal, Kan. and Rush Springs, returning to Woodward in 1953. He worked for his father, then worked in the building business until retiring in 1992.
Surviving are his wife, Pearl of the home; three sons, Jim Ogden of Woodward, Tom Ogden of Palm Springs, Calif, and Dan Ogden of Laguna Beach, Calif.; one daughter, Jane Ogden of Tulsa; four brothers, Bill Ogden of Searcy, Ark., Jack Ogden, and John Ogden, both of Woodward, and R. L. Ogden of Liberal, Kan.; one sister, LouDean Hahn of Lampe, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, and one grandson.
