The funeral for Jack Steven Bennett II, 42, of Jet, formerly of Clinton, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at First Baptist Church, Clinton. The Rev. Terril Mitchell will officiate. Burial will be 4 p.m. in Jet Cemetery. Jim Nance will officiate. Arrangements are by Stanley-Lee Funeral Home, Clinton.
He was born Feb. 18, 1967, in Midwest City to Jack Steven and Linda Kay Riddle Bennett and died Thursday, July 2, 2009, near Goltry.
He graduated from Hollis High School in 1985 and attended Cameron University, Lawton. He served in the Army for 10 years with 13 months of service spent in Korea. Following his discharge, he did civil service work at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs, Colo. He was supervisor for Fort Carson’s Turkey Creek Ranch, where he trained horses, led trail rides, guided hunting trips and more. The past 10 years he worked as a cowboy and in the oil field industry.
He was a member of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are one daughter, Amanda Kay Bennett of Hobart; three sons, Johnathon Steven Bennett of Somerset, Ohio, Matthew Scott Bennett of Hobart and Cody Jack Bennett of Jet; his parents, Jack and Linda Bennett of Jet; one brother, Chris of Sand Springs; and one granddaughter.
