Services for Lorn David Linton, 51, of Enid, will be held at a later date. Major Johnny Poff will officiate. Cremation arrangements are by Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. A register book will be at the funeral home for friends to sign.
He was born Aug. 28, 1957, in Lancaster, Ohio, to Bobby Joshua and Annabell Brown Linton and died Thursday, July 2, 2009, in St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.
He was educated in Lancaster. He built houses for many years in Ohio. He married Eleanor “Krickett” Staley Dec. 16, 1989, in Lancaster. They moved to Lawton in 1996 and to Enid in 2008.
He worked as a tornado chaser, worked with the Salvation Army Disaster Unit and for FEMA. He worked for Southside Recyclers as a cutter. He was a member of the Salvation Army Church (A Soldier of God).
Surviving are his wife, Eleanor, of the home; two sons, Lorn William Linton and Joshua David Linton, both of the home; one daughter, Sadie Doo, of the home; his mother, Annabell May Brown Linton, of Lancaster; three brothers, James E. Smith of Defuniak Springs, Fla., Roger Smith of Lancaster and David L. Brown of Newark, Ohio; and one half-brother, Bobby Joshua Linton, of Columbus, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his father.
