A memorial service for Lori Camille Merrill, 37, of Woodward, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 2, 2009, at Billings Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Mary Davis will officiate. Visitation will be today from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. with the family present from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was born Nov. 8, 1971, in Landsfuhl, Germany, to Alvin Alexander and Billie Sue Farris Salge and died Friday, June 26, 2009, at her home.
She graduated from Arch Bishop Mitty School in San Jose, Calif. She received her bachelor of science degree from Northwestern Okla-homa State University and her masters degree in business administration from South-western Oklahoma State University. She married John T. Merrill in June 1992. She served in the Army and was honorably discharged in October of 1992. She later worked at Matt Construction as an onsite executive director. She worked as a jailer for the Woodward County Sheriff’s Department, worked at Uncle Bill’s Lawn Service and as an accountant for Deep Water Chemical Company. She attended St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in California and St. John’s Episcopal in Woodward.
Surviving are one daughter, Amanda Camille Merrill of Woodward; her parents, Alvin and Sue Salge of Santa Ynez, Calif.; one brother, Rex Salge of Hot Springs, Ark.; and grandmother, Dixie Farris of Woodward.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Humane Society.
