Ethel Yauk

The funeral for Ethel “Wanda” Yauk, 80, of Buffalo, will be 2 p.m. Thursday, July 2, 2009, at First Baptsit Church, Buffalo. The Rev. Jerry Hodges will officiate. Burial will be in Willow Creek Cemetery, Paruna. Arrangements are by Myatt Funeral Home, Buffalo. Visitation will be noon to 7 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
She was born Oct. 15, 1928, on the family homestead in Paruna, east of Buffalo, to Dwight D. and Ethel Edna Edwards Davis and died Sunday, June 28, 2009, at Harper County Community Hospital, Buffalo.
She attended Paruna Country School and graduated from Buffalo High School in 1946.
She married Edgar Louis Yauk July 15, 1947, in Paruna. He died in 1982.
She was a homemaker and had worked as a cook at Harper County Community Hospital. She was a member of Paruna First Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Edmond “Ray” Yauk and Dwight Louis Yauk, both of Buffalo; one daughter, Rheda Jo Ball of Buffalo; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Edgar, she was preceded in death by three brothers and three grandchildren.
