The funeral for Irma Ora Henderson, 99, of Alva, will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at First Baptist Church, Alva. Greg Hook will officiate. Burial will be in Alva Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are by Marshall Funeral Home, Alva.
She was born Dec. 28, 1909, north of Danville, Kan., to Henry and Margaret Howell Borges, and died Friday, June 26, 2009, at Beadles Nursing Home in Alva.
She married Vernon M. Henderson Sept. 25, 1926, in Anthony, Kan. They moved to Paoli, Colo., and then back to Kansas in 1928, and in 1929, they moved to Alva.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Alva, and held several offices through the years.
Surviving are one son, Neal Henderson of Alva; one daughter, Rosalie Lehr of Norman; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 25 great-great-grandchildren; and three great-great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon, and two brothers.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to First Baptist Church, Alva.
