The funeral for Harold E. Loveless, 88, of Perry, will be 10 a.m. Monday, June 29, 2009, at Zion Lutheran Church, east of Perry. The Rev. Craig Groseclose will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Arrangements are by Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, Perry.
He was born April 21, 1921, in Perry to Harley and Helen Hoss Loveless and died Friday, June 26, 2009, at his home.
He served in the Navy as a deep sea diver during World War II. He achieved the rank of machinist first class before he was discharged.
He married Lorene Catherine Beier July 6, 1944, in Perry. He worked as a farm equipment mechanic for John Deere before retiring. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, where he served as an usher for more than 50 years and on church council as president, secretary and treasurer. He also was a member of American Legion.
Surviving are his wife, Lorene; one daughter, Pam Waren of Stillwater; one step-sister, Lorene James of Pawnee; three granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister.
