Cecil 'Eugene' Dixon

— The funeral for Cecil “Eugene” Dixon, 68, of Gate, will be 10 a.m. Monday, June 29, 2009, at United Methodist Church, Gate. The Revs. Al Scrifes and Lea Jones will officiate. Burial will be in Gate Cemetery. Arrange-ments are by Myatt Funeral Home, Laverne. Visitation will be 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
He was born April 8, 1941, in Gate to Clifford E. and Eileen Eunice McLeod Dixon and died Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at Mercy Health Center, Oklahoma City.
He was raised and educated in Gate, graduating from Gate High School in 1961. He then attended vo-tech in Okmulgee to become a diesel mechanic. He was a farmer and rancher. He was a member of Gate United Methodist Church and Elks Club of Woodward.
He married Jo Ann DeVous Aug. 4, 1961, in Gate. They later divorced.
Surviving are one son, Mark Anthony Dixon of Woodward; one daughter, Amy Jo Hunt of Canton; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one daughter and one brother.
