A graveside service for Arthur Bruce Cady Jr., 74, of Enid, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2008, in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. John McLemore will officiate. Arrangements are by Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
He was born Nov. 1, 1933, in Saginaw, Mich., to Arthur B. Sr. and Edwina Cady and died Sunday, May 4, 2008, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.
He grew up in San Francisco, and at age 6 he moved with his family to York, Pa., where he attended high school. He joined the Army and was stationed in Germany. He later transferred to the Air Force and served as a jet mechanic, being honorably discharged in 1963. He moved to Enid, where he worked in the engine shop for Northrop at Vance Air Force Base, retiring in 2001.
He married Retha Fields Nov. 17, 1973, in Enid. He was a member of National Rifle Association and Whittington Center.
Surviving are his wife, Retha Colene Cady, of the home; one daughter, Tabatha A. Conley; one sister, Wanda Akins of Boynton Beach, Fla.; and two granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sylvia, and one son.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, heart division.
