Tresia Charlene Williams

The funeral for Tresia Charlene Williams, 82, of Enid, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at Christ United Methodist Church. The Rev. Jim Jones will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.
She was born Sept. 26, 1925, in Pawhuska to Lester and Beulah Clemons Smith and died Saturday, May 3, 2008, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center.
She graduated from Enid High School in 1942 and attended Phillips University for two years. She was accepted into the cadet nursing corps at Vanderbilt University, where she earned her degree in nursing. She married Dr. John Williams Jan 25, 1948, in Enid. They made their home in Nashville, Tenn. He was in the Navy, and they were stationed at Fort Campbell, Ky., and then at Bethesda, Md. They returned to Enid in 1951, where they began his practice. She worked as her husband’s nurse and office manager. She also served in many volunteer positions with State Medical Women’s Auxilary and Girl Scouts of America. She was a member of Junior Welfare League. She began selling real estate in the mid-1970s, being named “Realtor of the Year” in 1986. She was the last surviving charter member of the Christ United Methodist Church, where she held many offices.
Surviving are one daughter, Susan McFarland of Guthrie; one son John “Happy” Williams of Oklahoma City; one sister, Phyllis Bushnell of Enid; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. John Williams.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Christ United Methodist Church, Northwest Specialty Hospital, pulmonary division, or charity of choice.
