— The funeral for Mary Esther Haltom, 76, of Waynoka, will be 2 p.m. Monday, May 5, 2008, at Elm and Murrow Church of Christ. Bill David Walker will officiate. Burial will be in Waynoka Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are by Marshall Funeral Home of Waynoka LLC.
She was born May 27, 1931, north of Avard to Otto and Georgia Irene Shearer Golbek and died Thursday, May 1, 2008, in Enid.
She graduated from Avard High School. She married Clarence Haltom May 6, 1954, at Medford. They lived on Hill Ranch north of Freedom then moved to Hutchison Ranch at Belva. In 1966, they moved to Waynoka. He died in 1986. She drove a taxi then drove a bus to a Woodward manufacturing facility and managed a gatehouse at Lake Texoma.
Surviving are three sons, Doug Haltom and Steve Holtom, both of Waynoka, and Vernon Haltom of Naomi, W.Va.; two sisters, Elsie Shipley of Alva and Ruth Nutter of Waynoka; and five grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Clarence, she was preceded in death by one brother.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Waynoka EMT’s or Waynoka Nursing Home activity fund.
