Emily Alma Koehn

Funeral service for Emily Alma Koehn, 87, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, May 1, 2008, at United Methodist Church, Helena, with Rev. Vera Walton officiating. Burial will follow at New Hopedale Mennonite Cemetery, Meno, with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Helena. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.lanmanmemorials.com. Viewing will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home and before the service at the church.
Emily Alma Buller Koehn was born Nov. 18, 1920, in Waco, TX to David Buller and Sara Kroeker Buller and passed from this life on Sunday, April 27, 2008, at First Shamrock Care Center in Kingfisher.
Emily married Joseph Koehn in 1940. They moved to the farm south of Helena in 1941 and into Helena in 1967, then to Kingfisher about five years ago. Joe passed away in 2006.
Emily was a homemaker and cooked at Great Plains Care Center in Helena for many years. She was a Gold Star Mother and a member of the Cherokee Territorial Wagon Train Club. Emily attended the Helena Senior Citizens Center and loved cooking, gardening, and quilting.
Emily is survived by five sons, Norman Koehn and wife Fay, Jimmie Koehn and wife Jackie, Donald Koehn, Martin Koehn, Bruce Koehn and wife Angie; one daughter, Betty Decker and husband, Ronnie; five sisters, Ida Rempel, Clarine Johnson, Frances Schultz, Ruby Regier and Josie Slagell; two brothers, Vernon and Eldo Buller; 13 grandchildren, Aaron, Cameron and Jay Decker, Todd and Chris Koehn, Misty and Sam Wyman, Melissa Heibel Jennifer Farrell, Chassidee Koehn, Danielle Backus, Beth Ann LeCrone and Daniel Koehn; 10 great grandchildren, Keegan and Kazden Koehn, Christian Wyman, Austin and Fischer Heibel, Jacob Koehn-Howry, Jaelle and Justin Farrell, Will and Emily LeCrone.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; an infant son, Larry Dean; son, Arlin Wayne; two grandsons, Chad Alan and Chase Koehn; sisters, Elba May Logan and Evelyn Unruh and two sisters in childhood; one brother, Ralph Buller and one daughter-in-law, Shannon.
Memorials may be given to the church, the Helena Senior Citizens, or charity of donor’s choice through the funeral home.
