A woman arrested earlier this week after being found by police allegedly walking down East Maine without pants or underwear was arraigned on two misdemeanors Friday.

Patricia L. Cheshire, 48, was charged this week with counts of acts resulting in gross injury and public intoxication.

Cheshire appeared via video from county jail before Special District Judge Brian Lovell on the two charges. Lovell released Cheshire on a $500 recognizance bond and ordered her to return to court Oct. 21 for a bond appearance.

According to an affidavit filed in the case, Enid Police Department Officer James McFadden responded to a report Tuesday of a half-naked woman walking down the street in the 800 block of East Maine. McFadden arrived in the area and saw a woman, later identified as Cheshire, wearing a white T-shirt and boots. McFadden noted Cheshire was not wearing any pants or underwear, according to the affidavit.

McFadden approached Cheshire as she was walking through several front yards and asked her why she was half naked, and Cheshire pointed and began yelling, according to the affidavit.

McFadden noted in the affidavit Cheshire was unsteady on her feet, had bloodshot, watery eyes, was slurring her words and had an odor of alcohol on her breath.

McFadden told Cheshire she was under arrest. Cheshire claimed she was attacked but when McFadden asked who struck her, Cheshire paused before asking if she was free to go, according to the affidavit.

McFadden noted in the affidavit he did not see any injures to Cheshire.
