Enid News and Eagle

— A Canton woman was hospitalized for injuries suffered in a two-vehicle accident Tuesday in Blaine County.

Margaret Ames, 85, was admitted to Okeene Hospital for observation in good condition, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report. She suffered trunk injuries in the accident.

The accident happened at 3:15 p.m. at the intersection of Oklahoma 51 and Oklahoma 58.

According to the report, Ames was driving a 1996 Mercury Grand Marquis east on Oklahoma 51, when she pulled away from a stop sign and hit a 2006 Chevrolet pickup driven by Billy Nunley, 74, of Longdale. Ames said she didn’t see Nunley’s truck because of sun glare, according to the report.

Nunley refused treatment at the scene for arm injuries, according to the report, which showed Ames was not wearing a seat belt.
