BLAINE COUNTY —
A Del City man was injured Friday morning at the Highway 51 junction in Blaine County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.
Mark Anthony Lyons Jr., 31, was taken from the scene of the 7:25 a.m. collision at the Highway 51 and Highway 51A junction by ambulance to Okeene Municipal Hospital. He was then transferred by ambulance to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City and was listed in stable condition with head and arm injuries.
Lyons was northbound on 51A in a 2010 Ford pickup and stopped at a stop sign at the junction, according to the patrol. John Donald Fueshko, 60 of Enid, was westbound on Highway 51 in a 2006 Freightliner.
Lyons failed to yield for Fueshko and his Ford struck the Freightliner. Fueshko was not injured.
Lyons’ condition is listed as “apparently normal” and the cause is listed as “failure to yield from a stop sign.” Lyons was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the collision.
