ENID, Okla. —
Enid Public Schools Board of Education made quick work of a short agenda at Monday evening’s meeting.
Members gave the nod to two change orders to the contract with Hembree and Hodgson Construction for work on the Cleveland bus parking lot. Between the two, the increased cost of the project is $1,230.
“By the way, we did move the buses down there today,” said Karl White, EPS chief financial officer.
Superintendent Shawn Hime confirmed this, and said if residents “need a place to park when you come for an event such as a board meeting, we’ll have parking.”
Before Monday, school buses were parked just west of the central office.
In other business, the board approved a number of routine transfers and purchases from school activity accounts; general fund encumbrances for $217,932; general fund change orders for $191,323; building fund encumbrances for $328,765; municipal tax levy fund encumbrances for $110,000; 2003 general purpose bond fund encumbrances for $95,354; and activity fund for donations and gifts encumbrances for $1,365.
The board also approved a number of personnel transactions.
Hired were Charles Burris, nutrition worker, Coolidge Elementary School; Kalleigh Chrz, teacher assistant, Eisenhower Elementary School; Carl Dieterle, maintenance, warehouse; Chad Eastin, mathematics, Enid High School; Jacqueline Galligher, custodian, Waller Middle School; Benjamin Janczewski, social studies, EHS; Michael Levick, custodian, Hayes Elementary School; Ricky Lunceford, custodian, Prairie View Elementary School; Cassandra Miller, fourth grade, Monroe Elementary School; Desiree Morrison, teacher assistant, Coolidge; Wendy Neptune, certified occupational therapist, Harrison; Melinda Sanchez, teacher assistant, Waller; Marcia Shortnacy, custodian, Prairie View; Michelle Sutton, teacher assistant, Coolidge; and Allison White, mathematics, part time, EHS.
The board approved the retirement of Debra Brock, reading teacher, Waller, and accepted the resignations of Jennifer Edwards, teacher assistant, Glenwood Elementary School; Rebekah Foster, nutrition worker, Eisenhower; Veronica Munoz, nutrition worker, Coolidge; Robin Noble, nutrition worker, Waller; Natalia Ohnesorge, English as a second language instructor, Adams Elementary School; and James Pack, custodian, Hayes.
