Modern Woodmen donate to charity

Enid Modern Woodmen of America members recently provided assistance to Hope Outreach Community Care and Homeless Ministry by donating hats, gloves, socks and hygiene items, as part of the organization’s Care and Share Program.

Coordinated by local Modern Woodmen members, chapters provide opportunities to connect through social activities and volunteer projects.

Care and Share is a nationwide program that offers Modern Woodmen chapters an opportunity to provide up to $250 of basic life necessities to individuals and families in need in their communities. Each year members from more than 600 chapters purchase and donate thousands of dollars worth of food, clothing and more.

“When a family needs household items after a natural disaster or other crisis’s, or a shelter or food pantry needs more supplies to help families, Modern Woodmen members can help through this annual project,” says Joe Duarte, local Modern Woodmen activities coordinator.

For information about the local chapter and how you can get involved, contact Joe Duarte at 242-4549.

As a tax-exempt fraternal benefit society, Modern Woodmen sells life insurance, annuity and investment products not to benefit stockholders but to improve the quality of life of its stakeholders-members, their families and their communities. This is accomplished through social, charitable and volunteer activities. Annually, Modern Woodmen and its members provide more than $23 million and nearly one million volunteer hours for community projects nationwide.
