Enid Symphony sets Pasta Gala

ENID, Okla. — An Easter tea for mothers and daughters or granddaughters is one of the prizes being sold during the annual Pasta Gala fundraiser for Enid Symphony Orchestra.

Executive Director Douglas Newell said Kelly Champlin has offered an Easter tea in the Champlin Mansion. The program includes tea and crumpets, a tour of the house, musical entertainment and craft work to create a Tussie Mussie, a type of floral arrangement.

Dates available for the tea are March 27, March 28, April 3 or April 4. Tea time is 4 p.m., and Champlin urges women to wear their Easter dresses.

The annual Pasta Gala will be 7-9:30 p.m. Friday at Enid Symphony Center. It will be catered by Panevino with a pasta dish, dessert and wine. There will be a cash bar, Newell said.

In addition to the Pasta Gala, other funding sources are Oklahoma Arts Council, National Endowment for the Arts, private and corporate underwriting, grants and rentals of the symphony center.

Newell said Enid Symphony operates on a $310,000 budget.

Live auction items include:

• Italian dinner for eight prepared by Sherrel Jones.

• Pandora bracelet with three charms, donated by Jackson Diamond Jewelers.

• Carpets donated by Moorman’s of Oklahoma City.

• The opportunity to conduct Enid Symphony Orchestra.

• Wines Around the World, donated by Clark Young.

• A $200 photo package donated by Wess Gray.

Silent auction items include:

• Two Thunder tickets for the March 13 game  against the Utah Jazz.

• Gary Hulse package, including tie, shirt and accessories.

• Keurig coffee maker, donated by Dillard’s.

• Four acting or public-speaking lessons by Roberta Stephens Satori.

• Cookies of the Month, donated by Beth Young.

• Danko Artist’s Pot, donated by Uptown Florist.

• Four tickets to Tulsa Opera’s performance of “Aida” on April 20. Includes hotel.

• Four tickets to Tulsa Opera’s performance of “The Most Happy Fellow” on Feb. 23. Includes hotel.

• Golf bag, donated by Clark Young.

• Horseback lessons for two children, Monday through Friday mornings for one week. Donated by Deborah Faulk.

• Skateboard, donated by the Bike Shop.

• Harold Holden pendant.

• Six months family membership to Denny Price Family YMCA,

• Two Crown Dinner Theater tickets, Wichita, Kan.
