ENID, Okla. —
As required by law, Enid Police Department is notifying the public about an aggravated sex offender who has moved in Enid.
EPD was notified by the Oklahoma Department of Corrections that John Louis Sullins, 33, has been classified as an aggravated sex offender. Whenever a sex offender classified as aggravated or habitual moves into a residence, the police department is required by state statute to notify residents of the neighborhood.
There are eight possible offenses that can require a person be classified as an aggravated sex offender, if they were convicted after Nov. 1, 1999. Habitual offenders are those offenders convicted of two or more sex crimes after Nov. 1, 1997, or those previously convicted with another sex offense conviction after Nov. 1, 1997.
Sullins was convicted of second-degree rape May 21, 2001, in Clarendon, Texas. Sullins is not wanted for any crimes and he has registered as a sex offender with the Enid Police Department.
Sullins is a white male, 5-foot, 10-inches tall, weighs 185 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. He temporarily is residing at 3130 S. Van Buren #29 in Enid.
