ENID, Okla. —
A comprehensive course designed to train people to mediate family and divorce matters will be held in Enid Jan. 16-19.
The course meets the training requirements for professional mediators to qualify under the District Court Mediation Act and is approved by the Oklahoma Bar Association for mandatory continuing legal education.
Judges throughout Oklahoma are referring disputes to mediation in the hope parties might resolve matters on a voluntary basis and avoid an expensive legal battle. People who complete the course will receive a certificate and be qualified to assist in resolving a variety of family and divorce matters.
The course is sponsored by The Mediation Institute, a private, nonprofit organization that has been training professional mediators throughout the state since 1992. The course will be 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. all four days. Pre-registration is required and is limited to 20 participants.
