A 53-year-old Enid man was killed Tuesday night in a fight at The Mine Co., 4709 W. Garriott, and police have arrested a 33-year-old man on a complaint of second-degree murder.
Enid Police Department Sgt. Dustin Albright said police responded to the bar at about 10 p.m. in reference to a man being found unresponsive in the bathroom.
Robert Eugene Abraham was taken by Life EMS to St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center with possible neck and chest injuries, and pronounced dead upon arrival.
“The injuries appeared to be consistent with blunt-force trauma,” Albright said.
Detectives were called to the scene and determined some type of physical altercation occurred between Abraham and Grady Wayne Lewallen.
Detectives interviewed Lewallen and subsequently arrested him on a complaint of second-degree murder. Police were not releasing any further details Wednesday, and did not say what led to the altercation between the two men.
Lewallen is being held at Garfield County Detention Facility and is awaiting bond.
Funeral arrangements for Abraham are pending with Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.
