Photographic art on display at DaVinci’s

Enid News & Eagle

— Works from a local art photographer are on display at DaVinci’s Coffee House through December.

Enid resident Albert Stichka is presenting a collection of 16 works under the theme “Sky, Water, and Trees,” all of them photographs taken in Oklahoma.

“I like to take photographs of ordinary things — ordinary subjects — in ways that make people question what they are really looking at, or which create a sense of wonder or amazement — even confusion — something special out of something ordinary,” Stichka said.

The collection includes photographs taken from U.S. 412 east of Enid, various parks in Oklahoma City and Roman Nose State Park near Watonga.

“I think people underestimate the natural beauty that is available to them in this state — in places they might not expect — and I try to show that beauty in ways that people aren’t used to seeing it — in ways that make them think,” Stichka said.

DaVinci’s, 2315 W. Willow, hosts the work of local merchants and artists on a monthly basis.

Stichka will be at DaVinci’s noon to 2 p.m. today and Dec. 18 to talk about the displayed works.

All displayed prints will be available for sale.
