ENID, Okla. —
City commissioners will meet at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in an effort to determine the best place to install underground electric lines.
The item was not included on the Oct. 2 commission meeting agenda, and City Manager Eric Benson said it needs to be completed as soon as possible. The measure will involve placing an additional $931,000 from the Enid Municipal Authority account into the 2012-13 capital improvement budget to pay for the OG&E project to place overhead lines underground.
The project is part of the downtown Renaissance project. Underground lines will be located along Grand and Independence from Maine to Park.
Phase II will extend the underground system from Park to Garriott. OG&E plans to complete the work during the first three months of 2013.
